Story Board Process

Originally set in 19th century Japan the client and I dicussed the idea of keeping the time period (Slide 1), however for a modern retake we decided to mimic a modern apartment in the 20th century while not specified NYC and the East Coast were the main inspiration. (Slide 2). The color palette heavily depended on the scene's feeling and the depiction of the mood. The first draft of the colors were based in traditional Japanese paintings. (Slide 3)
Cleaner Sketches to be discussed before finalizing line work and rendering.

Pups & Purrs is an original app design created on the principles of useability, flow, and demand. All images, vector drawings, and design elements were created uniquely for this project. Drawing on my experience working in an animal shelter for the past 3 years, each profile is based on a real life pet.
High Fidelity PrototypeApp Name: Pups & Purrs
Pups & Purrs is a mobile app targeting potential adopters too busy to check animal shelters in person everyday. Pups & Purrs strives to provide the necessary information such as past housing, allergies, age, breed, and everything else needed for adopters. Pups & Purrs offers flexible meet and greet hours by the day, aims on being hands on for shelter staff and focuses on the accessibility for all kinds of adopters. I focused on navigability by including unique button designs for the user to easily distinguish different sections, and additionally providing a filter system for those who may need a hypoallergenic pet, or already own pets. Moreover the app would include microphone settings for those who struggle with dexterity and support mobile screen readers for those with limited vision. Pups & Purrs focuses on each individual pet updating daily and an enjoyable trouble free user experience.https://www.figma.com/proto/ClLXVFV3XQingeJ6CFf0Tk/Pups-n-Purrs-2?node-id=49-17&t=Q2W0SZlEsKmInDKn-0&scaling=scale-down&content-scaling=fixed&page-id=0%3A1&starting-point-node-id=49%3A17

Conclusion
Pups and Purrs exemplifies my passion not only for the process of design, but also creating genuinely helpful applications that are accessible to all. This project further developed my skills in desirability, usability, and value impact. After reflecting on this project there was more to consider if the product were to truly come to life. This would include adding user journey maps, conducting further usability tests, and generating a direct exemplar in order to create an efficient user flow. And to further strategize findability rates in the fast paced world of the internet. The work, care, and effort put into this project whole-heartedly represents my enthusiasm for design.
